CookeBarracks.com administration requires a lot of time - and a lot of that time is required to clean up after children who delight in defacing this site. One of the ways I help prevent their antics is to "approve" each post to the message board and guestbook before it can go live (kids don't get much satisfaction if I delete their post before anyone can see it).

The problem with my approach is that "posts" don't always get "approved" (for publication) in a timely manner. In other words, it may take me a day or two to find the time to update pending posts.

The other problem is that for me to set up the message board for posts to "go live" instantaneously (without my intervention) requires that members "register" for a free account. Even though it takes all of about 30 seconds, eight years ago when I started CookeBarracks.com, I decided the registration issue may scare guests away.

Now that the majority of guests are Internet-savvy and understand how simple a process it is to register for an account (you just need to make up a password), I've decided to implement that process, effective immediately. Not only will message board posts go live immediately, other features can/will be added to enhance your experience here. These features are not possible without the registration process.

I kindly ask for your understanding regarding this matter and I hope you continue to enjoy CookeBarracks.com. I only wished I had kept a tally of all the old friends who have found each other through this site .
